Hamlet

Alas poor Yorick... Amelia has developed a flair for theatre. I guess we should have seen it coming. She always seems a little over dramatic. At least she keeps us entertained.

Chomp!

Despite having a persistent runny nose, Amelia had a lot of fun playing today. She is getting good at stacking her rings, throwing toys off the edge of the exersaucer, and rolling all around the playtime mats. She can also spin in circles on her belly and push herself backwards across the floors. She still seems to be right on the verge of crawling, but han't quite put it all together.

Overachiever

We try to tell Amelia it's okay to just play and laugh like other babies. But she gravitates towards the books... This one about colors tastes particularly good.

"Hello in there...

...I want you in my mouth." Amelia has enjoyed her exersaucer since the first time we ever put her in it. But now she is really exploring all of its intricacies. At times she gets so excited to be in it that she rocks the saucer like a hula hoop which makes it scoot across the floor. It is so fun to watch her play.

You Are Boring Me

The same old toys, same little games and distractions. Didn't we do this yesterday? Can't you come up with something new?...No I don't want to go for a walk in the stroller.

Octopus

Amelia gets a kick out of pulling off toys, towels, or whatever I set on her noggin. Okay, maybe I enjoy it more than she does. She really liked it the first few times. Now I think she simply tollerates my antics. It just really cracks me up to see the toy octopus on her head. I guess I've watched too many sci-fi cartoons.

Manicure

Amelia's fingernails grow so fast. For several months Kelly actually clipped her nails everyday. Now it's more like every couple days. We've both discovered how sharp those fingernails can get when they aren't groomed frequently. Amelia has strong little hands that like to grab faces when they are within reach.

Momalin Visits

Amelia had a fun playing with Momalin over the Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, Momalin starting feeling ill about a few hours after this photo was taken. We've had a pretty healthy summer, which has been nice. But I think Amelia brought home a stomach virus from daycare that she shared with all of us this past week. Oh well. I guess summer is coming to a close.
