Shopping Cart

Kelly brought home something new for Amelia to push around the house. Jennifer genorously loaned us the cart for a test drive. Amelia got the hang of it pretty quickly.

Stacking Blocks

Amelia is having fun with her paper blocks. She really likes for one of us to stack them up tall so she can walk over and knock 'em down. Most of the time she pokes at one and watches the stack tumble. But ocassionally she like to take the tower down block by block.

Pink Poncho

Amelia still loves her pink poncho. We think she looks especially cute wearing it and had a take another photo of her in it before she outgrows it. She seems to be mostly growing around the middle instead of up right now. So she should make it through the rest of pocho season.

She Walks

Amelia caught the walking bug this past weekend. She received some encouragement and coaching from Eric on Saturday afternoon. By Sunday she was motivated to stand up and start walking on her own without any coaxing. Her movements are much like Frankenstien's monster. It is very fun and funny to watch.

Hats

I still like to put things on Amelia's head. She enjoys it. Today the things happened to be actual hats. Most of the time she smiles as if she suddenly got a really neat surprise. But inevitably she gets tired of playing the game and gives me disapproving looks.

Let Me Ride

Amelia likes her pushcar. She's learning how to get the most out of her ride. Mostly it involves getting someone else to push, make sound effects and hand her toys along the way.

Clown Nose

Every now and then I manage to snap a photo at just the right time. I was plesantly surprised to find this image when I downloaded today's photos. This afternoon Amelia was playing with this rubber (or is it plastic?) pop-up gizmo we got at the toy store recently. For a brief moment she was chewing on it, and somehow flipping it around in her mouth. Maybe she was gripping it with her new fangs. Anyway the moment didn't last long enough for me to register what I was shooting. Sometimes it just pays off to hold down the button for a few extra frames. What a ham.

Happy New Year!

We observed the official federal holiday today with lots of clowning around, running errands and watching football... but mostly clowning. Playtime seemed to take a gymnastics theme with lots of rolling, tumbling, flipping and at least one nice inverted cross. We even had a few unfortunate dismounts. Amelia likes to stand herself up on everything in the house, all the time. But she still doesn't have the best balance. Her small feet have to work hard to overcome a top heavy combination of milk-belly and extra large noggin.
